It’s hard enough to find places to eat on a good day, but if you’re travelling to a different location and you’re on a time limit, it can seem impossible. That’s why we’ve made a list of family-friendly restaurants in the Whitsundays to satisfy those hungry bellies.
1. This first one is, in fact, a series of restaurants on Hamilton island.
Sails, TAKO, Coca Chu, Pool Terrace and Manta Ray are places which all have kid’s meals for the price of $14. They also adhere to a special. If you book your holiday through Hamilton island holiday homes then you can use the kids stay and eat free offer.
2. Café One 3
If you’re looking for a café that caters for everyone, Café One 3 has your back. Located at Airlie beach, it sells food that is vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free friendly. And as a bonus, it’s healthy!
3. Sorrento Restaurant and Bar
Sorrento Restaurant and Bar has a friendly atmosphere and a view of the Whitsundays. There’s a kid’s menu for under 12s with meals costing between $6 and $10.
4. Fat frog beach café
Everyone wants to visit a good café by the seaside. At Fat Frog Beach Café, you can enjoy a friendly, quirky atmosphere while you sip some delicious coffee. And if you’re feeling peckish, they’ll serve you up some healthy, homemade food.
5. Mr Bean Coffee Caravan
The Mr Bean Coffee Caravan is located on the Airlie Beach shore. Serving hot and cold drinks with donuts and muffins, there’s something for everyone.
6. Hog’s Breath Café
With a chain of restaurants around Australia, the Hog’s Breath Café is well-known. And for good reason too. If you let the little ones dine on the kid’s menu while you crack out the steak, then they’ll be treated to a free drink and ice cream.
7. La Marina
Presiding over the port of Airlie, La Marina is a hub of Italian cuisine. This restaurant caters for breakfast lunch and dinner. Its generations-old recipes create delicious pasta and pizza (with optional gluten-free bases!) which is sure to fill up everyone.
8. Jubilee Tavern
The Jubilee Tavern is the ideal place to bring your family, catering for people of all ages. With high chairs and colouring activities, an indoor games room, and a large outdoor playground, your kids will never be bored! The children’s meals are all $12 and come with the ice cream cart.
