Collage & Paste up Workshop

Join Brisbane visual artist Madbutt at Artspace Mackay for a creative collage workshop with a difference! Madbutt has been exploring hand cut and digital collage in her work since 2015, fusing vintage and contemporary imagery to create works for exhibitions and music festivals throughout the world. Workshop participants will experiment with handcut techniques, construct their own collages, then take them to Seventh Lane together to paste them up on an external building wall for all to enjoy! Come join us for a fun, creative opportunity to make your mark on one of Mackay’s exciting Public Art Laneways.

10am – 1pm Sunday 26 March 2023

Workshop Room, Artspace Mackay followed by Seventh Lane (near McGuires Hotel, off Wood St)

$30 per person

What to bring:

– water bottle, sun protection, comfortable shoes for walking

– A5 to A4 sized hero image — this will form the main image of your paste up (which will be approx. A3 finished size). It can be from a magazines/printed off from the internet or created by you.

What we provide: extra images from magazines, all art and paste up materials, coffee & tea facilities.

Considerations: paste ups will be pasted to a wall and participants won’t take the image home.

*Mackay Regional Council reserves the right to refuse display of any imagery deemed unacceptable.

IMPORTANT – Please carefully read the terms and conditions before making a booking:

• All program attendees must be in good health prior to attending the session (eg. no runny noses, coughs, temperatures). If any of the attendees booked in feel unwell prior to any of the sessions, please notify staff 4961 9722 that you’ll be unable to attend.

• A reminder notification will be sent 24 hours prior to the program. If you are unable to attend, please contact Artspace Mackay on 4961 9722 to advise staff.

• Please be aware that all programs may be photographed.

• By making a booking you agree to all of the above.
