Art&Design Club

If you’re a young person who wants to extend your creative skills, Art&Design Club is for you. This new term-based art program is delivered each Sunday for six weeks by a practising local artist. It gives people aged 13 to 17 an exciting opportunity to be inspired, explore and respond to Australian contemporary art within the gallery environment. Participants will experiment with art tools and materials, techniques and ideas to make their own art, and perhaps build a portfolio for further study. You don’t need to be studying art in school to benefit – you might simply want to have fun and challenge yourself!

Ages: 13 -17yrs

The Workshop Room, Artspace Mackay, Civic Precinct, Gordon St.

$180 per student, includes materials.

Bring a water bottle, wear clothes for making art.

IMPORTANT – Please carefully read the terms and conditions before making a booking:

• An 18+ Guardian will need to complete an up-to-date Medical Form and provide contact details which will be referred to by staff for the six-week period. These must be completed and correct to assist or guide staff in session delivery.

• During the art class, it is important that our staff have details of an 18+ contact for each student, in case of emergency. Please ensure that you include all correct contact numbers that your Emergency Contact can be reached, during the art sessions.

• For health and safety all arts program participants are to wear closed in shoes to each lesson. Also, as this is an art class, we encourage all students to use a wide range of messy art materials, and advise participants wears old clothes to each session.

• All program attendees must be in good health prior to attending the session (e.g. no runny noses, coughs, temperatures). If any of the attendees booked in feel unwell prior to any of the sessions, please notify staff 4961 9722 that you’ll be unable to attend.

• All students are expected to behave in a respectful manner that does not disrupt fellow students or class activities. If necessary, the 18+ Guardian made contacted and requested to collect a student, when there are issues arising from continued disruptive behaviour.

• A reminder notification will be sent 24 hours prior to the program. If a student is unable to attend, please contact Artspace Mackay on 4961 9722 to advise the art tutor.

• Please be aware that all programs may be photographed. Photography permission forms will be provided for you to complete prior to the first session.

• By making a booking you agree to all of the above.
